GAME RECAP: Barnstormers @ Wranglers
DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers were downed 55-27 on Sunday in a loss to Northern Arizona on the road.
After an early Northern Arizona score, the Barnstormers found their way to the end zone, but a would-be Kurtis Ravenel touchdown spotted a yard short negated a the score.
An interception would give Northern Arizona the ball back, which turned into a 14-0 lead for the Wranglers a play later.
Ravenel would score on the ensuing drive, on the same play aforementioned that saw him called down at the NAZ 1-yard line.
Dante Avilas-Santos had the reigns for the Barnstormers at quarterback for the second-straight week, holding serve during the first three quarters of the game which included a trio of big rushes along with a touchdown.
Barnstormers running back David Elder was the bright spot of the offense throughout the game, and found the end zone for Iowa in its first offensive drive of the second half.
Unfortunately, Iowa's comeback efforts stalled as Northern Arizona's offense continued to deliver.
The Barnstormers will return to the field this Friday, May 22, to face off with red hot Jacksonville Sharks team. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m at Casey's Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
