GAME RECAP: Barnstormers vs. Freight
DES MOINES - The Barnstormers fell to 0-5 on the season Saturday dropping their second home game of the season to the Fishers Freight 53-31.
After Fishers got out to a 16-point lead, Iowa struck by way of a Ivan Corbin carrying the ball.
It wouldn't be the first time Corbin showed off his rushing skills, either. The Barnstormers quarterback found the end zone after a 32-yard rush in the second quarter to give the Barnstormers a spark.
He'd accrew a total of five rushing scores in the game and nearly led the Barnstormers to a comeback victory.
Iowa trailed by 14 points with 2:51 to play, when Corbin threw a deep ball intending to find wide receiver Demonte Martin. The ball got tipped and Kurtis Ravenel came up with the catch. Officials later ruled it was incomplete.
Iowa will return to the Casey's Center on Saturday, May 2 to take on the cross-state rival Quad City Steamwheelers. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. and the game will be streamed live by Overnght Media.
