GAME RECAP: Barnstormers @ Freight
DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers were downed by the Fishers Freight Saturday 63-33 falling to 0-3 on the young season.
Iowa had an early lead in this one and was feeling the momentum up until a sequence late in first half.
The Fishers defense would stand tall against Iowa, after the Barnstormers were the benefactor of an offsides call on an onside kick.
However, Iowa went 3-and-out. Fishers blocked the field goal attempt before scoring on the ensuing play to take a 32-13 lead.
With 34 seconds on the clock, quarterback Harry Roubidoux and the Barnstormers offense drove down the field, eventually securing a touchdown on a quarterback keeper as time expired in the first half.
Fishers opened the second half scoring and would extend their lead after picking off Roubidoux.
The Barnstormers back in end zone with Roubidoux scoring again to make it 45-26 Fishers during the third quarter, but the fight wouldn't be enough.
The Barnstormers will return to the field Saturday, April 18 for their second matchup of the season against the Green Bay Blizzard. It's set to kick off at 4:00 p.m. CT on Yahoo! Sports.
