SPEED DATING: Chayz Holt![]() SPEED DATING: Meet the Barnstormers Welcome back to SPEED DATING, where we give you a crash course introduction to each member of the 2017 Iowa Barnstormers roster! Today we’re going to introduce you to defensive back Chayz Holt. Holt (6-1, 200, Upper Iowa University) returns for his second season with the Iowa Barnstormers. During his rookie season, Holt appeared in 14 games where he collected 55 total tackles and 10 pass breakups. What is Coach Wooten expecting to see from Holt this season? “Holt finished the season playing some good football. He will bring hard work and understanding of the game to camp.” We asked Holt a few quick questions to get to know him better, check it out below: What’s your sign? Aquarius Favorite Food: Seafood Favorite Candy: Starburst Favorite Movie: Blow Favorite TV Show: Game of Thrones Favorite NFL Team: “Rams, now that they’re back in Southern California.” Favorite Actor: Matthew McConaughey Favorite Music Artist: Jimi Hendrix What is something that’s on your bucket list? “Zip lining.” Who is someone who inspires you? Why? “My brother, for sure. He tore his ACL his senior year of high school and had no football scholarship offers. He walked on at a D1 School (University of Arizona), earned a scholarship, and got his degree. He is the true definition of hard work pays off, despite the odds being against him.” What is your favorite thing about playing football? “Definitely the people that you get to meet. Over the years I’ve learned that football always isn’t about the wins and losses, rather the people you meet during the journey and the life-long friendships and brotherhoods that you create along the way.” If you weren’t playing football, what would you be doing? “I would be working in the sports department at a University.” Where is one place you have always wanted to visit, but haven’t? “London, I have always wanted to go there since I was a kid.” What would you say is your greatest achievement in life thus far? “I would say leaving California to Iowa for college in 2013. I didn’t know a single person in the state of Iowa when I first moved here, so it was scary. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.” What is your goal going into the 2017 season? “To pack Wells Fargo Arena, I have been to a few concerts there and I can only imagine how fun it would be to play in front of that many people.” What are you most excited about in returning to the Barnstormers? “Being able to play football again, I don’t ever take it for granted.” What is something you want the fans to know about you? “I’m always smiling. If you see me out say what’s up!” Season Tickets are on sale for the Iowa Barnstormers 2017 season starting as low as $80 per seat. Don’t miss a minute of the action this season!
