Barnstormers’ Raterink Named Week 13 AFL MVP
Iowa QB Near Perfect in Win Over San Jose
CHICAGO – Iowa Barnstormers QB J.J. Raterink has been named the Week 13 AFL MVP, as voted on by Arena Football League fans.
Raterink (6-2, 210, Wyoming) passed for 376 yards and tied a career-high with nine touchdowns in Iowa’s 73-68 victory over the San Jose Sabercats in Week 13. The fourth-year pro finished the night with a 130.3 passer rating, marking his fourth consecutive contest with a triple-digit passer rating.
Fans had 24 hours to vote for the award on ArenaFootball.com. Other candidates included New Orleans VooDoo QB Kurt Rocco and Utah Blaze QB Jason Boltus.
Raterink and the Barnstormers return to the road this Saturday night, June 22 when they battle the Philadelphia Soul. Kickoff for Saturday’s game is 5:05pm. Iowa returns home on Saturday, June 29 when the San Antonio Talons come to town. Kickoff is set for 7:05pm.
