Barnstormers Sign Defensive Back
Defensive Back Verkedric Vaughns joins Barnstormers roster

DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers have signed defensive back Verkedric Vaughns to the 2020 roster, Head Coach Ameer Ismail announced today.

Vaughns (5-10, 195, Baylor University) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season in the Indoor Football League. Collegiately, Vaughns spent four years at Baylor University. In 47 games with the Bears, Vaughns collected 115 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Vaughns racked up several honors including Three-time Academic All-Big 12 Second Team, two-time Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll selection, and 2018 All-Big 12 Honorable Mention selection.

“Verkedric was an All-Big 12 Selection as well as an Academic All-Conference Selection,” said Coach Ismail. “He plays with a lot of energy and he loves to hit. I’m excited to see him bring his high football IQ and physicality to camp.”
