Dallas, TX – The Iowa Barnstormers success away from Wellmark Field continued on Friday night as they defeated the Dallas Vigilantes by a score of 59-38. With the victory, the Barnstormers find themselves back at .500 on the season with a 6-6 record. The win was Iowa’s fourth on the road during the 2010 season. Meanwhile, the Vigilantes fall to an AFL worst 1-11 on the season.
For the second straight week, Iowa quarterback Ryan Vena came out strong as he found Jesse Schmidt for two first half touchdowns. Vena finished the night completing 16 of 24 passes for 248 yards and 4 touchdowns, while also running for another score. WR Errick McCown returned to the lineup after missing 4 games with an ankle injury to record 7 receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown. The Barnstormers also received outstanding efforts from their defensive and special team units, highlighted by a 55 yard kickoff return for a touchdown by WR/DB Larry Kendrick.
