Wide Receiver Xavier Milton

Welcome back to SPEED DATING, where we give you a crash course introduction to each member of the 2017 Iowa Barnstormers roster! Today we’re going to introduce you to wide receiver Xavier Milton.

Milton (6-0, 196, Florida Tech) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie Indoor Football League (IFL) season. Collegiately, Milton played at Florida Tech where he recorded 73 receptions for 1,116 yards and 10 touchdowns in 11 games during his senior season. While at Florida Tech, Milton received numerous honors including D2 All-American Honorable Mention, Gulf South Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Year, and USA College First Team All American. Following his senior season, Milton was the first Florida Tech player to attend a Pro Day.

What is Milton looking forward to in joining the Barnstormers roster? “Just knowing that I’m joining an awesome program, knowing someone great like Kurt Warner played there is epic and I want to follow in his footsteps.”

What is something that’s on your bucket list? “Winning three Super Bowls and becoming Super Bowl MVP.”

What is your favorite sport to watch, other than football? “Basketball and soccer.”

What is something you collect? “Shoes.”

Who is someone who inspires you? Why? “My mother. Just watching her being so consistent and never giving up.”

What is your favorite thing about playing football? “Being with my teammates, making huge plays in major moments, winning, working at being the best.”

If you weren’t playing football, what would you be doing? “I would be a physical trainer.”

Where is one place you have always wanted to visit, but haven’t? “Dominican Republic.”

If a movie was made about your life, which actor would you want to portray you? “Omar Epps.”

What would you say is your greatest achievement in life thus far? “Making my mom proud by believing in my dream and striving for it no matter who doubts.”

What is your goal going into the 2017 season? “In 2017 I want to help others more, mature as a man more, and be one of the best in this league.”

What are you most excited about in coming to Des Moines? “I really don’t know much about Des Moines, but just meeting new people and making a new home.”

What is something you want the fans to know about you? “I would like my fans to know that I’m here to help them have a good time and show them what I’m capable of Godwilling.”
