GAME PREVIEW: Iowa Barnstormers vs. Wichita Falls Nighthawks
Iowa welcomes Wichita Falls to Des Moines for their matchup with the Nighthawks

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers (4-10) are back at home this week and set to take on the Wichita Falls Nighthakws (9-5). Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. Fans will be able to tune in to the game by watching live on IFLLive.tv, listening on WHO Radio 1040 or watching locally on Mediacom MC22. 

The Barnstormers were defeated last week by the Sioux Falls Storm (14-1), 53-30. The game was closely contested through the first half iwth the Storm takin ga 26-24 lead into halftime. The second half however, was all Sioux Falls. The Barnstormers were unable to stop the top ranked rushing attack while struggling to put points of their own on the board. Barnstormers' quarterback Travis Partridge continued his stellar play completing 21 of 36 passes for 241 and two scores. For the Barnstormers' defense linebacker Javicz Jones continues his All-IFL play recording six tackles including 1.5 tackles for loss with a sack. 

After being the winners of four straight games, the Wichita Falls Nighthawks were defeated by the Colorado Crush at the Kay Yeager Coliseum in Wichita Falls, Texas, 61-56. Officially a lock for the playoffs, the Nighthawks are looking to perfect their play. The Nighthawks top ranked offense is led by quarterback Charles McCullum who last week copleted 20 of 32 passes for 184 yards and four touchdowns. The Nighthawks defense relies heavily on lineman Terrance Lloyd whose ranks second the team in tackles (54) and first in sakcs (6). 

The last time these two teams matched up the Barnstormers were 2-0 coming off a game in which they defeated the Green Bay Blizzard 73-21. Meanwhile, the Nighthawks were 1-1 after losing their first game by a single point to the Spokane Empire then defeating the Colorado Crush. The Barnstormers ended the first half leading the Nighthakws 27-23, but a 30 point third quarter for the Nighthawks proved insurmountable for the Barnstormers. In the end, the Barnstormers dropped their first game of the year, 74-47.
